Established to recognize outstanding former students who have led a distinguished career and CISD staff who have made a significant impact on students, the Hall of Honor is accepting nominations.
Sonic Drive-In in Commerce will donate 10 percent of its sales the evening of March 11 to benefit Project Graduation. Organizers hope that citizens will grab a meal or a Blast from 5 to 11 p.m. to benefit the Class of 2010 after-graduation party.
Incumbents Bob McLeroy, Place 1, and J. Russell Armstrong, Place 3, are running unopposed for their places on the CISD Board of Trustees. Elva Resendez, Gabe Wittkopf and Kelly Patterson have filed for Place 2. Early voting begins April 26 and ends May 4 from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at City Hall. Extended hour voting will be held April 28-29 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Election day voting will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at City Hall.
Both softball teams defeated Campbell in games played Tuesday, March 9. The varsity team racked up 12 points to Campbell's 1. Junior varsity players went 17-1 over Campbell's team.
