Commerce ISD provides bus transportation for all students in the District. Although the State of Texas only requires that the District transport students who live two miles away from their school, the Board of Trustees determined a need to help families with their in-town transportation needs.
Safety is of utmost concern in our buildings and on our buses, so CISD bus drivers undergo yearly physicals and driving record checks. Drivers must report to their supervisor any traffic violations occurring in their personal vehicles or on a bus. A point system determines their eligibility to continue driving a school bus.
All changes in drop-offs and pickups should be directed to the student's campus,; however, keeping changes to a minimum will help ensure the safe arrival of the student at school or home.
