The CHS Robotics Team received a donation of $5000 from the Greenville chapter (416) of the Air Force Association (AFA). The funds will be used to purchase VEX Robotic equipment for team projects and Robotic competitions.
The CHS cheerleaders won the state title at the UIL Spirit State Championship in Fort Worth.
Members of the CHS National Honor Society distributed items on behalf of the community Clothe-A-Child project. Arriving at Walmart at 5:30 a.m., the students helped smaller students select $50 worth of clothing.
Hour of Code competition introduces students to computer science and programming.
CES A-Team attendance winners joined in the parade through the campus.

School board trustee filing opens
Applications for filing for a position on the CISD School Board are available at the Central Administration Building at 3315 Washington St. during office hours. Places 4 and 5 are up for election. Incumbents Dr. Mark Reid and Dr. LaVelle Hendricks have filed for their respective places on the Board. Filing continues through February 17 for the general election which will be held May 6 at City Hall. Information on board member qualifications and responsibilities can be found here
