Four inducted into CISD Hall of Honor

Commerce ISD inducted four former students into its Hall of Honor during an induction ceremony and luncheon September 20, 2019, at the CISD Administration Building. The honorees addressed approximately 80 friends, family and colleagues and were presented a plaque and blanket commemorating the event by CISD Superintendent Charlie Alderman. Inductees included Carolyn Burt, CHS Class of 1955 graduate, a CISD teacher/coach, retired Texas A&M University-Commerce teacher and coach; Kristin Barker Hames, graduate of the Class of 1996 and current Director of Bands at Hill Country Middle School in Eanes ISD; Medley Wilson, Class of 1976 graduate and current employee of L3-Harris in Greenville and a Commerce community leader; and Wade Wilson, Class of 1977 graduate and professional athlete and coach. Mr. Wilson passed away earlier this year and he was represented by his father, Charlie Wilson.

Honorees attended the CHS pep rally where they were introduced. They also were honored prior to the CHS homecoming football game vs Kemp at Texas A&M University-Commerce's Memorial Stadium. Inclement weather forced the cancellation of the game.

Former taff and students who have established distinguished careers and former staff who have made a listing impact are considered for the Hall of Honor distinction.
